"Ciência é 10!"
Vol. 8 No. Esp. (2025)The authors and editors of the Acta Biologica Brasiliensia Journal thank "Science is 10!" A specialization program in science teaching, which is part of the More Science at School Program, from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation and the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development, offered by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel and partner universities, including the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro.
The course provided not only a healthy environment, but also personal and professional enrichment, with exchanges of experiences between the students of the course, tutors and teacher trainers. It provided opportunities for growth, opening new horizons with a view to sensitizing students in a playful and assertive way.
Science teaching can be much more enjoyable and playful when it happens in a planned way, seeking to involve the actors who should really participate. Teaching should not be stagnant, stuck in time and space. On the contrary, when students actively participate in the stages of an experimental design, however simple it may seem, it awakens in them a desire for development and overcoming challenges. Don't surpass your classmates or teachers, but surpass your own limits. Designing a project and realizing that project was, one day, the dream of some of the teacher trainers who collaborated on the course. And today another dream comes true. The certainty of the continuity of dreams in science education. It is true that the class started with a much larger number than actually completed the course. All our limitations and difficulties, but those who reached the end make us believe that it is possible to seek new ways of teaching and teaching how to teach. With only the minimum necessary to learn how to ask a question in a group. In partnership with future and eventually students.
But I particularly confess my weaknesses and let myself be carried away by the good side of living with young teachers and researchers. I reveal that my passion for science began many years ago, as a child, when my parents valued reading and made a point of spending a little on books. I still have several today. My wish is that the seed planted in this group, which I have the pleasure and honor of participating in as a teacher trainer, will bear fruit and form new generations.
On behalf of the entire external team, my thanks to the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel for the opportunities through Science is 10!
