About the Journal

The first editions were published by the Regional Biology Council of the 4th Rg, in Belo Horizonte. Since July 2021 it has been linked to the Institute of Biological and Natural Sciences; in partnership with the Postgraduate Program in Physiological Sciences, at the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro. The magazine presents results of scientific research, literature reviews and notes.

Aligned with the assumptions of open science, Acta Biologica Brasiliensia is a collaborative academic publication connecting authors, editors, academic institutions and research funders with the common goal of promoting access to scientific research. The magazine follows the precepts of good practices, encouraging research transparency at all stages. The objective is to popularize and disseminate knowledge – in a clear and objective way; so that it can be distributed and accessible to all of society, free of charge, fulfilling the social role of the Brazilian University.

According to the latest CAPES evaluation, it was classified in the main area of ​​Environmental Sciences as B3, with publications in the areas of Biodiversity; Biotechnology; Food Science; Agricultural Sciences I; Environmental Sciences; Biological Sciences I; Biological Sciences II; Nursing; Engineering I; Engineering II; Interdisciplinary; Materials; Medicine II and Animal Science / Fisheries Resources, totaling 14 areas, which demonstrates the Journal's commitment through rigorous practices that guarantee the quality, ethics and relevance of the published content.

Evaluated by SJIFactor (SJIF), an indexing agency that provides impact assessments, it obtained scores of 4.9 in 2022; 5.944 in 2023 and 6.376 in 2024; indicating that the path of the Acta Biologica Brasiliensia Journal is one of growth.
