Aquastroma aquaticus sp. nov., is a saprobe from decaying wood collected in the intertidal zone on river beaches of Ilha do Mosqueiro, Pará, Brazil. The taxon found presents the main characteristics of the monotypic genus Aquastroma, but differs from the type species of the genus by the size and morphology of the ascus. Morphological descriptions and illustrations are presented for all species.
