Percentual de gordura corporal está associado negativamente com o desempenho intermitente em jogadoras de futsal

Authors

Abstract

Objective: To verify if the percentage of body fat is correlated with the performance in specific tests in amateur futsal players. Methods: Thirteen amateur futsal players participated in the study (24.1 ± 3.7 years; 63.6 ± 8.0 kg; 1.61 ± 0.4 m; 27.9 ± 4.4% fat). Initially, the players answered the recovery scale, after which the tests were performed: countermovement vertical jump (CMJ), illinois agility test and intermittent Yo-Yo recovery level 1 (YYIR1). At the end, the perceived exertion scale was recorded. Results: There was no correlation between CMJ and body fat (r = 0.19 and p = 0.52), as well as the illinois agility test (r = 0.15 and p = 0.61). A strong negative correlation was found between the distance covered in the YYIR1 and the % of fat (r = - 0.8184 and p = 0.0006). Conclusion: Higher values ??of body fat percentage negatively affect high-intensity intermittent performance in futsal players, but do not influence jumping and agility activities.
