MACHISM, PATRIARCHALISM, MORAL AND THE DISSOLUTION OF OCCUPATIONAL ROLES

This essay aims to reflect about results of the research about rape in Brazil published by theInstitute of Applied Economic Research (IPEA) of Brazil, in March 2014. Are discussing theconcepts of patriarchy, sexism, morale and roles, especially the occupational ones. The modelof the patriarchal family was common in the Middle Ages, due to agricultural economicstructure of the period, and was very different from the nineteenth century bourgeoispatriarchy. Machism, in turn, emerged with the decline of Christian Morals in bourgeoissociety gestated at the end of medieval and easily infiltrated the bourgeoisie. The loss of aguiding moral and the rise of liberal and relativist ideas did modern humans lose theirreferences and, often, their own role in the world.
