Abstract

Objectives: To describe the efficacy of the technical actions of the Brazilian Men's Volleyball Team.

Method: Efficacy, volume of volleyball technical actions like attack, serve, block and error made, in addition to the variability of these actions were quantified and described.

Results: The efficacy of the investigated actions was similar between victory and defeat campaigns (range from 1 to 7%). Similarly, the total volume of actions also showed no difference between editions of the competition, both for victories and for defeats. Converted points and mistakes made also did not differ between the years of the competitions, regardless of the result. Another metric that reinforces the consistency of technical actions, in victory and defeat campaigns, was the coefficient of variation, which presented very close values ??for the campaigns (range 3 to 14%).

Conclusions: Volleyball players of highly competitive level have no difference in the efficacy of the actions investigated. The total volume of actions and the points converted showed little variation, in campaigns of victory and defeat. The hypothesis that victory or defeat campaigns would present differences in the investigated variables has not been confirmed.
