Influence of physical activity practice on the quality of life of the elderly: a in-tegrative review
Abstract
Objectives: To analyze the influence of physical activity on the quality of life of the elderly through publications in national and international literature. Methods: A systematic review was carried out on the databases, LLILACS, MEDLINE and SciELO with published articles and in the last 5 years. Results: Five articles were selected that met the criteria established for this research. All studies were cross-sectional and presented evidence on the relationship between the practice of physical activity by the elderly and the effects on their quality of life (QOL). Studies have shown that the practice of regular physical activity among the elderly has shown to have a beneficial effect on QOL, since the greater the practice of physical activity, the greater the improvement in aspects related to autonomy, functional capacity and interaction with the social environment. , reducing the risks of developing some pathologies, reducing cognitive decline and risk of death. Conclusion: Physical activity can be an important factor in improving the QOL of the elderly, acting in the prevention of pathologies, health promotion and recovery of the interaction between the social and family cycle.
