Abstract

Objective: To investigate the correlation between technical skills and experience time in youth futsal players. Methods: Sixty-six futsal practitioners participated in this study (age: 12.13 ± 1.66 years; body mass: 44.83 ± 12.60 kg; height: 1.51 ± 0.14 m; 63 males and three females). All participants had been attending futsal classes for at least two months in the "Bola Pro Futuro" Project in the city of Santiago, with a frequency of three sessions per week, each lasting 90 minutes. They were in the learning and training phase of futsal. The participants were assessed using the Skills test, adapted for futsal. The following variables were obtained: dribbling, control1.95m, control3.05m, shooting, and passing accuracy with the right foot (RF) and the left foot (LF). Correlations between technical skills and experience time were verified at a significance level of 5%. Results: A weak direct correlation was found between experience time and the RF variable (r = 0.295), and moderate correlations were found between experience time and control1.95m, control3.05m, and dribbling (r = 0.435; r = 0.477; r = -0.523, respectively). Conclusions: We conclude experience time has a positive relationship performance of technical skills in control1.95m, control3.05m, RF, and dribbling in futsal.
