Caluromys philander (Linnaeus, 1758) is a species that presents arboreal habits and their populations are in decline due to several threats, among the main ones in anthropic environments are those with electrical systems, which are little reported. Given this panorama, the objective was to present the record of an accident with electrical structures in a section close to a forest caused by the marsupial C. philander for the rural area of Carrancas. The need to implement strategic measures to prevent accidents in electrical structures involving animals is highlighted. This type of accident can kill individuals of species considered rare, as the case in question.
