ADULT AND YOUTH EDUCATION: PROFILE OF TEACHERS AND STUDENTS IN A PUBLIC SCHOOL

Abstract

This is a quantitative and descriptive study, that aims to characterize the profile of teachers and studentsand identify the presence of didactic and audiovisual resources for EJA mode; held with 12 teachers and 60students in a public school of Uberaba-MG, Brazil, through interview from questionnaire in June 2014.Among the main results are: 66,7% are female gender; 50% over 41 years; 58,4% have a BA or BS, 33,3%have specialization and 8,3% master's degree; 50% work as more than 21 years; 66,7% of teachersworking in the EJA from one to 10 years; 100% stated that the teaching materials and audiovisualresources are inadequate. With regard to the students' profile: female, of the 26 35 years, married, withchildren, workers officially registered, with individual income of 1 minimum wage, living in the urban areaand distant from the EJA, without company's support both for study and for training actions. The studyshowed the need to expand training activities for teachers and students, in particular stimuli in the sphereof public administration education.
