Abstract

Twinning may represent probability of developmental delay due to the tendency to delayed intrauterine growthwith subsequent preterm birth. This study aimed to describe the performance vision motor and gross motortwins, with a history of premature birth, in early education. Four pairs of twins compared with children bornpreterm not twins and children from birth to the term in relation to performances in Denver II tests, VisualMotor Integration and Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire-Brazil 2. Descriptive analysisrevealed a pair of twins rating lower than expected for their age in Denver II test; in DCDQ-Brazil 2 instrumentsand VMI significant differences were observed in all pairs of twins. The statistical analysis showed that twinchildren exhibit similar performance to single pregnancy premature. Premature children, twins or not, showed alower performance in motor aspects and vision motor compared to individuals at term.
