Focus and Scope

The SELL Journal - International Symposium on Linguistic and Literary Studies (ISSN 1983-3873) is a biannual journal of the Letters Course at the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro-UFTM. The SELL Journal is linked to the Professional Master's Program in Letters - Profletras at the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro. Publications include works in the areas of Linguistic Studies, Literary Studies, and Language Teaching (native and foreign).

Peer Review Process

Manuscripts submitted to the SELL Journal first undergo a checklist to verify compliance with the journal's standards by a staff member of the secretariat. Evaluation Policy. Following this, they are forwarded to the peer review phase, where at least two external reviewers will issue their opinions. These reviewers are selected based on their specialization and/or affinity with the thematic content of the works under consideration. In case of disagreements between reviewers, a third reviewer will be requested to evaluate the manuscript and thus support the final editorial decision, according to the workflow described below:

1. Evaluation of the checklist by the secretariat regarding compliance with the journal's standards;

2. Manuscripts that meet the journal's standards undergo an evaluation by the journal's editor(s) regarding scope and editorial policy;

3. The editor-in-chief assigns the manuscript to the reviewers;

4. The evaluation system is double-blind, where reviewers issue a peer review (opinion), which will be used by the editor to approve or reject the manuscript. In case of conflict between reviewers, a third reviewer will be called upon;

5. Comments and requests for corrections made by the reviewers will be forwarded to the corresponding author;

6. After the corrections are made, the corresponding author submits the revised version of the manuscript, which will be forwarded to the reviewers for the issuance of the final report;

7. The reviewers' suggestions and the authors' subsequent responses will be analyzed by the editor-in-chief, for the issuance of the final decision and subsequent forwarding of the decision to the authors;

8. The accepted manuscript is sent to begin the editing process, where it undergoes a Portuguese language review.

9. After that, a preliminary layout of the manuscript is carried out, and it is sent to the author for analysis and verification, and the organization of tables, figures, images, and general formatting;

10. After this stage, the authors are required to formally declare any conflict of interest and assign copyright to the journal;

11. The final version of the manuscript is approved by the Editor-in-Chief and is sent for publication in the journal's system.

Important Note: There is no submission or publication fee.

Periodicity

SELL Journal is a semi-annual publication of the Letters Course at the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro (UFTM).

The SELL Journal does not charge a manuscript submission fee or a publication fee for approved articles.

Open Access Policy

This journal offers immediate open access to its content, following the principle that making scientific knowledge freely available to the public provides greater global democratization of knowledge.

Editorial Policies

The data and concepts contained in the works, as well as the accuracy of the references, are the sole responsibility of the author(s). The contribution must be original and unpublished, and not under consideration for publication by another journal.

Fees for Authors

The SELL Journal does not charge a manuscript submission fee or a publication fee for approved articles.
