Introduction: Motor learning is a process of changes produced internally, relatively permanently, as a result of practice. These internal changes generate observable behavioral consequences in the form of increasingly efficient and complex motor responses. Objective: To present the motor performance evaluation possibilities that allow the coach, technician or therapist to infer whether the student/patient has acquired a skill, that is, learned a movement. Methodology: Narrative literature review seeking to clarify the importance of evaluating motor learning in the learner's performance. Result and conclusion: The evaluation of the motor learning process is a relevant aspect for improving the learner's performance, as it allows the teacher/technician to broaden the understanding of the teaching-learning process and identify which factors influence the acquisition phase.
