ECOS DE NARCISO: ESTUDOS SOBRE GRAMÁTICA LATINA E ELABORAÇÃO DE SEQUÊNCIA DIDÁTICA A PARTIR DO MITO DE NARCISO EM OVÍDIO

Abstract

This paper aims at presenting the results of the project Narcissus’ Echoes: Studies about Grammar Latin from the myth of Ovid’s Narcissus, carried on the monitoring of the discipline Latin I: Language and Culture, from the Letras courses of Roraima’s Federal University. Its goal was to elaborate a didactic sequence since primary sources for the teaching of Latin to the basic levels of learning. In order to do so, the myth of Narcissus and Echo as told by Ovid in the Book III from Metamorphoses was selected. Upon the interval of verses corresponding to the story of impossible love of this well-known couple from the classical mythology a lexicon and morphosyntactic study was carried on followed by a work of standardization of selected clauses from the Ovidian text towards the presentation and explanation of the Latin cases. Following it a theoretical material concerning such cases was elaborated from the selected Latin clauses, as well as a series of morphosyntactical analysis exercises. Besides the aforementioned material, the elaboration of a study support content which gathers information about the author, the work, the mythological characters and the reception of the myth of Narcissus by modern western art and culture was added up. Thus a synthesis of the development of the stages of the project and of the achieved results is what follows.
