Abstract

This article reflects on the teaching of Biology based on the possible contributions of a territorialized perspective of education. To this end, it proposes an approach to the sociobiodiversity of the Jequitinhonha Valley, highlighting its environmental, social and cultural characteristics, as well as the memories and stories of the people of the Valley. This movement seeks to break with stereotypes attributed to this territory in a process of valuing and constructing situated, more critical and affective pedagogical practices. The text also describes the process of creating educational resources inspired by the Valley, highlighting them as original materials from which emerge experiences, knowledge and artistic expressions of a region that is not limited to hegemonic and colonizing discourses. A region that pulses with culture and life and that can teach us to fight for our land and our identities.
