Abstract

The current neoliberal economic model is reflected in environmental education with hegemonic reductionist and individualistic tendencies. It is important to overcome the merely practical dimension, and turn to theoretical reflections. Understanding what is researched in postgraduate programs, based on the theses and dissertations, is part of the quest to highlight the theoretical conditions of a field, and in this sense, qualitative research of the “state of the art” type is important, as shown in this article. In total, there were twenty-nine studies, five theses and twenty-four dissertations, of which analyzed, on the one hand, the issue of identity, as well as science versus traditional knowledge, on the other hand, the dismantle and abandonment of public entities, but also the lack of access to basic rights at the communities, which suffer an increase in precariousness with the current political scenario.
