Objective: To analyze the scientific evidence on the role of nursing management for the quality of care in Primary Health Care. Method: Integrative review conducted through the databases of the Virtual Health Library (LILACS, BDENF and MEDLINE). Original studies were included, with full texts, in Portuguese, English and Spanish, published between 2016 and 2021. Protocols, technical standards, and reviews were excluded. The studies were evaluated for data summarization and classification of the levels of evidence. Results: The search resulted in 145 studies, three duplicates were excluded, and after reading title and abstract, 112 were excluded. Thirty were selected for reading in full, and 22 were excluded. The sample consisted of eight studies. Conclusion: In order to offer qualified care, nurse managers need motivation, commitment and support from the multiprofessional team.
