BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS: PROFESSIONALS OF THE FRONTLINE OF HEALTH AND COVID-19 STUDIES OF THE PERIOD 2020-2021

Objective: To conduct a bibliometric analysis of the peer-reviewed literature to identify publication trends about the frontline healthcare workers. Methods: Bibliometric review, the data were extracted from the Web of Science database, published between 2020 and 2021. Results: A total of 281 documents were found, with an annual increase rate of 57,8%. The most common type of document identified by the analysis were original articles (n = 226) followed by review documents (n = 37). Keywords network analysis revealed a high predominance of topics such as anxiety, depression, stress, personal protective equipment, burnout, insomnia and post-traumatic stress disorder. Conclusion: The findings reveal that the mental health of COVID-19 frontline healthcare workers was an important topic in the first years of the pandemic and indicate a need to provide psychological support of these professionals.
