Abstract

In recent years, the topic of continuing teacher training has been recurrent, highlighting its importance both for the quality of future educators and for education in general. This work seeks to report the continuing education offered by UFMA's Codó campus, using a bibliographic approach to investigate the implementation of new courses specific to this objective. The institution has played a significant role in promoting the quality of education in the municipality and in the continued training of professionals in the Cocais region. According to data from the cooperation of the specialization course to which this study will be presented, a first class formed by 23 specialists, and a second class is currently underway. It is expected that the institutional role of this training will demonstrate its relevance, not only for teachers, but also for the community in general to understand the importance of initiatives like this. The methodology adopted for this work was bibliographical research, due to its significant contribution to scientific studies, together with the use of the Iramuteq program. Therefore, the positive impact that this training brings to teachers becomes evident, highlighting the need for continuity or implementation of new courses that promote professional development.
