Abstract

The text presents the conflict involving the canvas “Deus é Mãe”, by the artist Robinho Santana, made in the context of the public art festival CURA, in BH, in 2021, which was painted on a lateral building wall in the center of the city of Belo Horizonte and has graffiti in a kind of frame of a painting of a black woman with a child in her arms and another carried by her hand. Due to the presence of the pixo on the screen, a police investigation was opened in an attempt to criminalize the artist, the festival and the pixadores. To think about the institutional racism of this attempt at criminalization, we will go through the text by Neusa Santos Souza and Freud, when he talks about the malaise in culture. The rap Negro Drama, by Racionais MCs, is the key to reading both the canvas, the graffiti, the defense and this text. The black drama, read with the text by Maria Gabriella Lansol “Where are you going, drama poetry?”, tells us about pixo as writing, as black dramapoesia, very far from the detective text, which is punitive and racist.
