The present study sought to know the reality of Public Institutions of Higher Education in the country, with regard to accessibility and social inclusion. For this purpose, the study had as a parameter 25 public higher education institutions in the country, which were questioned via the Citizen Information System (e-SIC) regarding the data of people with disabilities in the institution (civil servants, teachers and students) and others accessibility and social inclusion data. In addition, a case study was made at the Universidade Federal do Triângulo Mineiro to further detail the same conditions at the institution of the authors of the work. The work was carried out considering the Brazilian legislation supporting people with disabilities and pertinent to accessibility and social inclusion, as well as documentary and bibliographic research was used to deepen the theme. It was found that Public Universities are investing in the implementation of accessibility, with the acquisition of Assistive Technologies and adaptations of their buildings. However, the lack of budgetary resources is still an obstacle, as pointed out by some institutions. It was found that all the institutions analysed offer the discipline of pounds to students and servants. It is concluded that the search for the implementation of accessibility and social inclusion is still a reality to be faced by the higher public institutions in the country.Downloads
