Abstract

The objective of the study was to understand nurses' perception of the assistance provided to people with pressure injuries in Primary Health Care. This is a descriptive, exploratory study with a qualitative approach. The study was carried out in territories covered by the Family Health Strategy of a municipality in the interior of the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil. Data collection took place from January to February 2023. The data were transcribed in full and analyzed using the content analysis technique in light of the theme proposed by Bardin, emerging a corpus of three categories. Given the findings, it was evident that they provide the main guidelines on the prevention of Pressure Injuries, demonstrating superficial knowledge on the subject. As difficulties in providing assistance, they reported the absence of a municipal protocol, a large coverage area and a lack or insufficient quantity of inputs.
