Abstract

In this article, we intend to analyze the titles of 50 texts published on the blog of the Instituto Internacional da Língua Portuguesa (IILP) between July 17 and December 13, 2023. From this investigation, we seek to reflect the image of Portuguese conveyed by the IILP, since it is an institute considered a reference for the common management of this language, representing the interests of all the Member States of the Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa (CPLP). We believe that studies such as this one help us to identify whether or not this official communication vehicle contributes to the propagation of misperceptions about the Portuguese language that could influence negative evaluations of the linguistic variation intrinsic to the language. In this dialog, we find contributions from Fonte Boa and Barbosa (2022), Oushiro (2015; 2021) and Barbosa and Marine (2019).
